Prizes history

Since 1999, the Executive Committee decided to support young researchers with awards for clinical and preclinical studies. In 2007, the Young Investigators Award for Clinical Science was named after Göran Sundkvist and in 2012 the Young Investigators Award for Pre-clinical Science was named after Angelika Bierhaus.

Why to apply for these two Awards? Because it is an opportunity for the winner, for the mentor, and for Neurodiab.

The first winners for Clinical Science were in 1999 Geert Jan Biessels and Rayaz Malik and for Preclinical Science the first winner was Nigel Calcutt in 2003. Most of the first winners have become leaders of very active teams. Thus, these awards are an opportunity for the winners and bring good luck.

Someone who won the price in the first place went on to mentor a new generation of winners. Thus, these awards are also an opportunity for the mentors. Successful youth are the best reward for the mentor.

Support to the young people has been one of the main achievements of Neurodiab. Thus, these awards are an opportunity for Neurodiab and allow it to achieve its mission.

Neurodiab can still be a sort of high-level researcher cluster city, but to be a real community of dialogue, mentorship and exchange Neurodiab needs you.

You can find here the rules, then apply!
